Fluid-structure interaction simulations for the prediction of fractional flow reserve in pediatric patients with anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery

no code implementations2 May 2024 Charles Puelz, Craig G. Rusin, Dan Lior, Shagun Sachdeva, Tam T. Doan, Lindsay F. Eilers, Dana Reaves-O'Neal, Silvana Molossi

We find reasonable agreement between the model predicted and clinically measured FFR at stress, indicating the credibility of this modeling framework for predicting hemodynamics of pediatric AAOCA patients.

Deformable Registration of MRA Images with 4D Flow Images to Facilitate Accurate Estimation of Flow Properties within Blood Vessels

no code implementations5 Dec 2023 Dan U. Lior, Charles Puelz, Justin Weigand, Kristina V. Montez, Yimo Wang, Silvana Molossi, Daniel J. Penny, Craig G. Rusin

Both the geometry of the vessel walls and the velocity of the blood within them are required to generate accurate estimates of vessel flow properties.

Optimal fenestration of the Fontan circulation

no code implementations2 Feb 2022 Zan Ahmad, Lynn H. Jin, Daniel J. Penny, Craig G. Rusin, Charles S. Peskin, Charles Puelz

In this paper, we develop a pulsatile compartmental model of the Fontan circulation and use it to explore the effects of a fenestration added to this physiology.

Computer simulation of surgical interventions for the treatment of refractory pulmonary hypertension

1 code implementation28 Jan 2021 Seong Woo Han, Charles Puelz, Craig G. Rusin, Daniel J. Penny, Ryan Coleman, Charles S. Peskin

These procedures create either an atrial septal defect, a ventricular septal defect, or, in the case of a Potts shunt, a patent ductus arteriosus.
